The other day, I was taken back by how surprised people were when I would simply hold a door open for them. The look of shock in their eyes and the surprise in their tone gave me a fresh perspective to what kind of world we live in. There are so many days, weeks, months, even years we spend focused on ourselves and what is going on in our own lives that we don’t take the other people around us into consideration. So, that being said, I challenge you. : )
When you are out and about, going through your daily routines, take a step back and look at the people around you. Share some of Christ’s love with a simple act of kindness. (Hold a door open, even if it will take a couple more seconds of waiting for them.) I’m sure taking a few split seconds out of your day to consider a total stranger could make their day.
